On behalf of the general contractor P-Vision, a contemporary student residence was created that is perfectly tailored to the needs of today's students. Thanks to its proximity to the Winterthur University of Applied Sciences, lectures, the library and city life are within easy reach. The compact studios are designed to offer maximum comfort in a small space. A specially developed furniture system combines bed, wardrobe, storage space and workspace into a well-thought-out whole. The woven floor made of recycled plastic creates a warm, sustainable atmosphere and is both robust and easy to clean. The result is a small world of its own that provides space for productive learning and relaxation. Each apartment also has its own bathroom and a large bed for even more privacy and comfort. The bright, inviting communal areas create places to meet: a spacious, open kitchen with long dining tables invites residents to cook together. In the adjoining lounge, sofas, a television and a relaxed atmosphere are perfect for film evenings or cosy get-togethers. The project combines privacy and community, individuality and exchange, sustainability and contemporary living – making it the ideal home for the next generation of students.
